I am Jastine C. Palteng. I was born on February 24, 2005, in Labinab Grande, Reina Mercedes. I am the youngest of five siblings, two of my older brothers live in Taiwan, one sister resides in Baguio, and another sister lives in the United Kingdom. My parents met in Mercedes, and growing up there shaped the way I remember my childhood. The bond I share with my family, though separated by distance, remains one of the most cherished aspects of my life.
Many of my earliest memories are rooted in the outdoors playing with my siblings in the fields and going on small adventures across the neighborhood. Those days taught me to value curiosity, teamwork, and the simple joy of exploring. In elementary school, I formed close friendships, helped water the garden, and spent afternoons chasing one another around the yard. Those small routines built a sense of belonging and community that I still carry with me.
High school was lively and social. My friends and I often gathered at the local computer shop to hang out and work on projects; once, in our youthful mischief, we were even chased by a security guard. Those moments strengthened my friendships and taught me how to balance responsibility with fun. The experiences I shared with my peers became foundational to who I was becoming.
College life has been more challenging but equally rewarding. The academic pressure is real, yet I am fortunate to have friends who support me; together we study, problem-solve, and sometimes take breaks to go out and recharge. These experiences have helped me grow more resilient, responsible, and collaborative. Each day brings new learning and new opportunities to refine my understanding of myself and the world around me.
Looking back, the thread that connects each stage of my life is the people around me, family and friends who have shaped my values and supported my growth. Whether exploring fields as a child or navigating the demands of college, I've learned to approach challenges with curiosity, to value community, and to keep a sense of wonder in everyday moments. This is my story, one of growth, connection, and endless possibility. Every moment, big or small, has contributed to the person I am today.
